Life of Riley

Overview

In Alain Resnais' last feature film, adapted from Alan Ayckbourn's play, three couples living in Yorkshire learn that their mutual friend, George Riley, is suffering from a terminal illness. With only a few months left to live, they invite George to join their theatrical troop in preparation for their next performance, but rehearsals shine a spotlight on their prior relationships. George decides to take one last holiday in Tenerife, and the three women volunteer to go with him leaving their husbands as suspicious understudies.
