In an early 1980s Polish town, a prostitute and a youth leader are murdered, but police handling of the case makes two journalists suspicious.

A young man who runs a small horse farm, and looks after his possessive mother. Their relation is not easy but it becomes even more difficult when he falls in love with an older musician Dawid, and begins to dream of leaving home.

Two ex-spouses find themselves at the mercy of the church when they try to validate their annulment more than twenty years later.
