On a tramway that connects several of Jerusalem's neighborhoods from East to West, a mosaic of people from different religious and ethnic backgrounds are brought together.

Prisoners of War begins with the return of two Israeli soldiers who had been held captive for 17 years. During their absence, the two have become national icons. Bumper stickers with their names, flags with their pictures adorn the streets of Israel. The series examines how the two cope with the re-entry into the Israeli society at a national and personal level.

In 1984 Israel, an Ethiopian boy is taken from a Sudanese refugee camp. He conceals his true identity in hopes of building a better life.
