RATTLE OF A SIMPLE MAN (1964) directed by Muriel Box follows Percy Winthram (Harry H Corbett), a shy, naïve 39-year-old who is in London with his friends for the Cup Final. When he meets beautiful hostess Cyrenne (Diane Cilento) in a Soho strip club and accepts a bet, a night of lust seems to be on the cards, but back at her apartment Percy's innocence and vulnerability become all too evident.

When the police find the same fate befalling other girls featured on the front page they realise a highly intelligent madman is on the loose.

In this class British comedy, Albert Steptoe and son Harold are junk dealers in London's east end and rub along together at the yard. Harold likes the bright lights of the West End and meets a stripper whom he marries. When he takes her home to Albert, the oldster is furious and tries to drive the bride away!

With a list of eccentric suspects all set to inherit a fortune if the offending pictures should come to light, the naive detective sets about uncovering the blackmailer, but his investigation is continuously hampered by sexy shenanigans. Bob soon finds himself in over his head as he tries to protect his client and solve the mystery.

A former pimp, released from prison, disregards his ex-cellmate's advice and reverts to criminal activities, this time involving a photographic model racket.
