Annie, a happily married woman with a loving husband and daughter, joins her company's softball team and becomes good friends with her teammate, the openly gay Maggie. Much to Annie's surprise, her friendship with Maggie gradually develops into a strong attraction.

Stuck in a lackluster marriage, Abby and Eliott rely on their dog Laila for the affection they don't provide one another. When Laila is kidnapped for ransom, they immediately launch into an outrageous madcap adventure to save their four-legged "child," and along the way, possibly even themselves as well.
