The feature film debut from writer-director Natalia Smirnoff, former assistant director to Argentinean New Wave directors Lucretia Martel and Pablo Trapero, PUZZLE is the delicate and bittersweet tale of Maria del Carmen (Maria Onetto), a forty-something housewife from the suburbs of Buenos Aires, who gradually comes into her own when she discovers her extraordinary gift at assembling puzzles. Her new passion leads her to secretly train with a magnetic millionaire bachelor for Argentina’s national championship, which, if she wins, would take her to Germany and the World Puzzle Championship. Uninterested in puzzles, Maria's husband and sons are not aware of her new passion. But before long her puzzle obsession becomes a serious testing ground, and Maria must decide how much she can expect from her men.
