Ravi, a fireman, falls in love with Roopa, a simple village girl. Their relationship takes a turn when Jagirdar, who also loves Roopa, tries to separate them.

The story is about a young girl, Anita, who becomes homeless and helpless, when her cruel relatives remove her from the house. A poor street performer, Birju, who lives with two children, a dog and a monkey, provides her shelter.
