Ashok is in love with his boss' daughter, Nirmala. To convince Viswanathan, he seeks his best friend Vasu's help, who disguises as his father.

Harichandra (Sivaji) had never lied to anyone in his life. Viswamithra (Nambiar) challenges that he will make Harichandra to lie. Viswamithra tries various methods to make Harichandra suffer. Harichandra even sells his wife and himself to keep up his words till the end.

A man cons Alladin into finding him a magic lamp. Alladin finds the lamp and runs away from the man. Few years later, when Alladin learns about the powers of the lamp, he decides to use it.

Palum Pazhamum is a 1961 Indian Tamil-language film directed by A. Bhimsingh. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan and B. Saroja Devi. The film, produced by G. N. Velumani under Saravana Films, had musical score by Viswanathan–Ramamoorthy and was released on 9 September 1961. The film was a hit at the box office. It was remade in Kannada as Beratha Jeeva, and in Hindi as Saathi.
