Ten years after the supposed death of Jesse James, a young man who is rumored to have been his son plots a scheme to use the Dalton Gang and missing money from one of their heists to hopefully flush out if his infamous father is really dead or alive.

Border patrolman Lt. Rocky goes undercover in a vicious gang to find his friend’s killer and clear the name of the dead man’s wrongly accused brother.

A young convict, Johnny Coulter, serving as a trustee and with only a year remaining on his sentence, is forced to participate in a prison break by one of the hardened criminals. They separate after the break but circumstances bring them together again. Johnny and a waitress, Hope Novak, fall in love and, together, they help the law recapture the escapee and his henchmen.

On the way to Arizona, Cisco catches blame for an impostor's string of stagecoach robberies, and must figure out how to clear his name.
