For the first time ever at the Salzburg Festival, Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte is performed on period instruments – Nikolaus Harnoncourt returns to the composer’s native city to conduct his famous Concentus Musicus Wien. A strong ensemble cast of some of today’s finest young singers is led by Bernard Richter as Tamino and Julia Kleiter as Pamina; Markus Werba shines in the role of Papageno.
