D'Artacan leaves for Paris to become a "muskedog"; there, he meets the three muskedogs Amis (Aramis), Dogos (Athos), and Pontos (Porthos).

Ten years have passed since the events narrated in Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds. A mysterious summons brings together the four Muskehounds.

Dogtanian, a fearless young pup and swordsman, dreams of becoming one of the King’s Muskehounds. With his friendly horse Sandy and a scrappy mouse named Pip, Dogtanian leaves for Paris in search of an adventure.
