An intense lifelong relationship develops between the two women authors, based on Violette’s quest for freedom through writing and on Simone’s conviction that she holds in her hands the destiny of an extraordinary writer. Thibaut is a renowned conductor travelling the world. His life is upended when he discovers he was adopted and has a younger brother, Jimmy – a trombone player in a village marching band. Despite their differences, the two bond over a shared love of music. As they embark on a shared musical journey together, illness and upheavals threaten their fragile connection and future.
