Annie Summers is trapped in a nightmare marriage. Her husband Bill, a brutal cop who thinks he's above the law, beats her and threatens to kill Annie if she ever leaves him. One night, at her cooking class, she meets Tommy, a handsome stranger who seems too good to be true. As their relationship builds Tommy begins to hint at ways he can help Annie escape her husbands' torture. Alone, desperate and terrified, Annie turns to the only person she has left- herself.
