John Paul Rocksavage is a beat cop in Liverpool. When his partner, Andy, is murdered in a vicious attack while on duty, John responds in a way he never thought himself capable of.

As a favour to a friend, Owen gets involved in a botched robbery and goes on the run from a murderous gangster. He finds refuge with a Gypsy horse dealer (David Essex), but the Gorja world soon collides with the Gypsy world and Owen is involved in a deadly climax and a blood-flecked fight to the finish.
