Natsuki Harada

In the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake, journalist Reiko Endo (Yasuko Matsuyuki) travels to the city of Nagaoka in Niigata Prefecture as it prepares for an annual fireworks festival memorializing the fallen victims of war.

Weaving the life of a 92-year-old doctor into the history of a small Hokkaido city, "Seven Weeks" addresses Japan's wartime responsibility, its present nuclear crisis and the heartaches of youth and love. The second film in Nobuhiko Obayashi's Anti-War Trilogy which includes Hanatagami and Casting Blossoms to the Sky.
