This triptych of stories pays playful tribute to the home of Stax Records, Sun Studio, Graceland, Carl Perkins, and, of course, the King, who presides over the film like a spirit.

Jim Jarmusch started Coffee & Cigarettes in 1986 with a six-minute improvised caprice starring Steven Wright and Roberto Benigni. Two guys meet in a coffee bar to sip, smoke and chat. Jarmusch has continued the series over the years.
