After his act flops on Broadway, Tad Wallace joins a new troop that's heading out west. While in a small town, they run into the man who has just burned down their theater, and chaos erupts amongst them.

Ed Randall takes a leave from the Navy in order to help his aunt out at her ranch. Her water has been cut off and her rent is due, so he seeks legal advice. When the man giving legal advice is suddenly killed, Ed finds himself under suspicion.
