Two poor gypsy boys bond and later form a notorious gang of armed robbers, but when one tries to reform his ways, the past comes back to haunt him.

A couple and their baby are found brutally murdered in their home. Surprisingly, the killer left Madeleine, their eight-year-old daughter, unharmed, who seems to have no recollection of the incident.
