Andres Vargas is a police detective who dies while chasing the Midnight Butcher, a psychopath responsible for the murder of multiple women. A large multinational company is shaken by the suicide of three of its employees. Sofía Cuevas (Maribel Verdú), a senior official at the company, is in charge of preparing an internal report to clarify the facts. Through her interviews with the employees, she will discover abuses of power, lies and the existence of a sick work environment.

In this expertly told coming-of-age story, a timid 8-year-old boy named Moncho befriends Don Gregorio, his elderly teacher, during the Spanish Civil War, and learns important life lessons.
