An 18-minute tearjerker from writer-director Christian Walsh, ‘After’ follows a gay couple whose once perfect relationship is turned upside-down as they deal with the loss of their daughter in opposite and conflicting ways. Both men understand that they will have to find some way to move forward, but it’s not clear whether or not they’ll be able to do it together.

Ryan and Jacob planned to get married, but a pandemic hit and Jacob got sick. To make matters worse, Ryan was not allowed to visit Jacob in the hospital. Before his passing, Jacob recorded a message on his phone for Ryan. Ryan travels to their favorite beach to watch the video message and to say goodbye... even though going outside places Ryan in immediate, physical danger.
