Two Japanese siblings find themselves stranded in a California desert town en route to San Francisco, but soon warm up to life in the dusty burg.

In the town of Pearblossom, the Japanese immigrant Anna hangs out with American Cory, who has not yet come out of the closet. To earn money for a trip to Japan, she works as a prostitute. Together with Cory’s conservative brother Jef, the two set off to San Francisco to look for Cory’s real father.

Dreaming of fame and fortune, a local actor hires two indie filmmakers to make a film with him as the star but his lack of drama forces them to get creative.
