The Whispering Star
(2015)Humanoid delivery woman Yoko Suzuki (Megumi Kagurazaka) makes her rounds through space, landing on isolated planets and meeting near-extinct human beings along the way. Whispering to Yoko is the child-like voice of her spaceship's operating machine. Neither understands why humans have the need to send each other seemingly insignificant objects that take years to be delivered.

Cold Fish
(2011)Inspired by the story of a real-life Japanese serial killer Cold Fish is a bloodcurdling suspense drama that unveils the underlying insanity of an ordinary man.

The Land of Hope
(2012)Sion Sono, the controversial director of Love Exposure, Himizu and Cold Fish takes on the difficult subject of the recent Fukushima nuclear power plant explosion in typical Sono style. In a typical Japanese village, Yoichi Ono lives with his wife, Izumi and his parents. The Ono family live a frugal, but happy life as dairy farmers living in the peaceful village. One day the worst earthquake in history strikes causing a nearby nuclear power station to explode. Their neighbours, who live within the range of the nuclear power station, are forcibly ordered to evacuate by the government. But the Ono family have only half of their garden designated as within range. They then have to make a hard decision whether to take refuge or not. The film, which is examining a highly relevant subject, describes the mental anguish of the family. A family that is forced to separate by an extremely unfortunate event beyond their control. The past, the present, and the future of the two couples from different generations rises to the surface.
The Sion Sono
(2016)Directed by Arata Ôshima, son of rebel filmmaker Nagisa Ôshima, who had praised Sono's early work before his passing, this documentary gives insight into the man, the poet, the painter, the scriptwriter, the husband and the boy who will eventually grow up to be the Sion Sono. Lineage, history and the past meeting the present are themes in this film in which Ôshima connects the dots in Sono's creative life by taking the camera to the site of his upbringing and following the production of his most recent film The Whispering Star.
