Debashree Roy

Sagar Balaka is a 1984 Indian Bengali film, directed by Dinen Gupta. The film stars Debashree Roy and Dipankar Dey in lead roles. Music of the film was composed by Sumit Ray.

Aditi loses her father when she is eight years old. Her mother Sorojini Gupta, was not at home when he died. Sorojini is a dancer who is away performing at the time of the incident.

Anutap is a 1992 Bengali drama film starring Raj Babbar, Debashree Roy, Dipankar Dey and Rabi Ghosh. Mahendra, a renowned singer, marries Shakuntala but their happiness is short lived as misunderstanding creeps in forcing Shakuntala to leave Mahendra’s house. Years later, Mahendra comes across a kid who is none other than his own son.

Abhimanyu is a 2006 Bengali action drama film starring Mithun Chakraborty, Locket Chatterjee, Rajatava Dutta, Debashree Roy, and Jisshu Sengupta. Raj Sinha, a policeman, kills gangster Durjo Rai's son in an encounter. But when he realises that the last two surviving members of his family are in danger, he asks Abhimanyu, his suspended colleague, to protect them.

From his childhood Rana has been subjected to injustice. His poor widow murder had been subjected to molestation by the rich which led her to commit suicide leaving young Rana and his sister Tushi alone in the world. Rana, being the eldest, takes complete responsibility of her and both of them start staying with a distant relative in another village. As he grew up, he helped everyone around him, whether it is saving lives when a fire broke out or helping the fellow villagers with water during a famine. However the local police officer Rajib mistakes him for a goon as Rana’s philosophy in life was to rob from the rich and corrupted and, replenish the poor and the needy. Rana pays a heavy price for this as well. His lover commits suicide after her self being is attacked upon. In the end Rana loses his life after having successfully rescued Rajib’s long lost son. Rajib is made face to face with the reality of Rana’s identity.
