In the dephts of a mid-life crisis as he hits his forties, Zurch filmmaker Stefan Keller is obliged to take a second job due to financial problems. Sent on a mission to assess youth hostels, anonymously, he travels all over Switzerland just before the Christmas holidays. This journey proves to be an odyssey.

The former best friends Laura and Maria have fallen out over a terrible story of deception. They meet again after years of silence on a farm, where Maria's terminally ill sister Kathi has retreated. All three women are on the verge of an inner collapse - they force each other to drop their masks until they have to face existential questions and their deeply buried love for each other.
