A mysterious individual is in the middle of swapping masterpieces with excellent copies. Meanwhile, Tintin, Snowy, Captain Haddock and Thompson & Thomson head to Syldavie for the holidays and meet up with their friend, Professor Calculus. Tintin and his friends find themselves at the centre of the mystery.

When the photographer he loves is murdered, a reclusive detective is assigned to solve to the case — one in which he becomes the chief suspect.
